Hair is a special allium variety. The flower resembles a punk's head of hair. When this allium starts to flower, the petals are still short and tidy, but soon they grow into a wild head of hair. They are actually all young bulbs with green shoots. When the "flower" is ripe, they fall onto the ground where they try to grow further. This allium attracts butterflies and bees during flowering. Suitable for naturalising.
